Weekly Haiku 17

Life is not waiting;

Dead, the mellow soul that takes

Comfort in boredom.

(Not sure I entirely agree with this one, which is weird since I wrote it.)

Scorned, that tired cliché;

How can it be that love came

Sudden, swift, and sure?

The day’s epitaph;

Another grain slipped away

Into the ocean.

A cry in the night

Brings forth a rushing heartbeat;

A parent’s instincts.

Gentle as a lamb,

Kind as any cat could be;

Sleep in peace my friend.
